Los Angeles Lakers newcomer Tyson Chandler came up big on Sunday night as he made the game-winning block on Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young. The rookie appeared to have an open layup that would have won the game, but Chandler had other ideas.

After the 107-106 win, the media caught up with Chandler, who is quickly becoming a sweetheart in the eyes of the Lakers faithful. As the 36-year-old was fielding questions, teammate LeBron James hilariously butted in and made the whole room burst out in laughter:

After Chandler's huge defensive stop, James was one of the first guys to excitedly congratulate the 7-foot-1 big man, and both guys were visibly pumped in their celebration. As it turns out, LeBron was listening in on Chandler's interview in the locker room and happily shared exactly what he told the former Defensive Player of the Year winner: “THAT'S MY DAWG!”

After being waived by the Phoenix Suns last week, the Lakers wasted no time in pouncing on Chandler. As it turns out, the former All-Star is exactly what the team needed to add a veteran presence amidst a team packed with young and promising up-and-comers.

In three appearances for the Lakers, Chandler has averaged a very serviceable 3.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.0 steals, and 1.3 blocks in 22.7 minutes per game off the bench. He appears to have secured a role in head coach Luke Walton's rotation, serving as JaVale McGee's primary backup at the 5 spot.

Chandler recently signed a one-year, veteran's minimum deal with the team, and he should prove valuable to the Lakers as the season progresses.
