Ever since it was discovered that LeBron James' son, Bronny, was interested in basketball like his father, people began coming to the conclusion that they could play together one day–possibly on the Los Angeles Lakers.

With people speaking about the possibility of them playing together, James recently discussed his honest take on the matter, via Mark Medina of USA Today.

“That's definitely one of my goals, but that's a long-term goal,” the Lakers star said when asked if it his goal to play with Bronny in the NBA. “My son right now is in high school and enjoying what being a teenager is all about. But that would be pretty cool to go on my resume.”

Before the 2020-21 season, the Lakers made a concerted effort to ink Anthony Davis to a long-term extension. After making sure to retain Davis before he hit free agency, Los Angeles then agreed to a two-year extension with LeBron James.

The two-year extension for James keeps him under contract with the Lakers through the 2022-23 season. Whenever the deal was completed, James made it clear that one of the reasons why he chose to finalize an extension until 2023 was due to his son being eligible to enter the NBA that year.

James, who is 36 years old and is in his 18th season in the NBA, is still playing at an MVP level for the Lakers this season. The superstar forward just completed his 17th All-Star Game on Sunday and is poised for another run at the NBA title in the second half of the season.

In the other major sports, we've seen some sons and fathers play together, including Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr. who played on the same baseball team in 1990. Seeing that James intends to play into his 40s, there's a chance that he could play with his son sometime in the future.
