Did the entire galaxy conspire to make this season the worst campaign for the Los Angeles Lakers? That must be the question lingering in the minds of Lakers fans as the team just couldn't catch a break.

Just when Anthony Davis made his return after an extended absence, LeBron James has suddenly been sidelined due to knee swelling. This also hit the breaks on LBJ's amazing streak over the past few weeks, which largely kept the Lakers afloat despite a lackluster campaign.

In a report by ESPN, Lakers coach Frank Vogel said they're monitoring LeBron's condition daily. But he admitted that managing The King's workload isn't exactly his call.

“I think about it every day. We're always mindful of the load that he's carrying, in constant communication with him and the medical team. And in terms of what we do going forward with the knee and where he's at, it's really a heavy lean on the medical staff and (trainer) Mike Mancias and what they feel is best. It's really not a head-coach thing as much as it is relying on the medical team.”

Vogel's remarks could come as a surprise for the Lakers faithful. Most people would think that managing a player's responsibilities is very much part of the coach's duties since he should always be on top of things. With rumors swirling about his exit, Vogel needs to be extra cautious of his remarks.

In the last three years, LeBron's once-durable body has started to break down. He's missed extended time due to various injuries, and his latest setback will force the Lakers to hold the fort even more.
