Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James appeared to make a strange allusion to his upcoming Space Jam movie with a message about Bugs Bunny and a gun.

James seemingly made reference to Bugs Bunny with a tweet on Friday morning.

Well, that's one way to promote your new movie.

James stars in the sequel to the original Space Jam film, entitled Space Jam: A New Legacy. The film will have a theatrical release on July 16 and will have a one-month run on HBO Max.

What kind of “gun” is LeBron referring to? Ray gun? Shrink gun? It remains to be seen. He's not really giving away plot details, it would seem.

The Lakers could probably care less about James' cinematic exploits. They desperately need him to get healthy ahead of the playoffs.

James returned from a month-long absence on April 30 after being sidelined with an ankle sprain. But that ankle is still giving him issues. He has missed each of the team's last two games and might not return until next week.

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel mysteriously said Thursday James' recent absences actually weren't medically related, though it was later reported he was permitted to stay off the ankle.

Regardless, Los Angeles is desperate for momentum with the playoffs just around the corner.

The Lakers have lost seven of their last nine games, including a 24-point drubbing at the hands of the crosstown rival Clippers on Thursday night.

Los Angeles is tied with the Portland Trail Blazers for the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference. Vogel would surely like to have a full roster for at least a couple of games before the playoffs begin.

James might have to go “Monstar” in the playoffs, or perhaps borrow from his friend Bugs Bunny's arsenal in pursuit of another championship.
