It was an emotional night for LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers as they suited up for Game 4 of their first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers. For starters, it's August 24 – a day in which the entire world celebrates the legendary Kobe Bryant. The King took the opportunity to honor Kobe by doing what he did best and went on to blow out the Blazers with a 135-115 win. James dropped 30 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to lead the Lakers to victory.

After the huge win, James took the opportunity to share his thoughts on everything going on right now.

“It's a wide range of emotions. Extremely proud of my team the way we played tonight.” James said after the game (per SportsCenter). “Extremely blessed and honored to be able to play on 08/24 and continue to remember Kobe Bryant, Gigi Bryant and all the fallen people that was a part of that tragic incident. And then at the same time, having the emotions of what's going on and what happened outside of Milwaukee with Jacob Blake. “

James joined the entire world in celebrating and commemorating the great Kobe Bryant today, August 24 which has been unofficially tagged as ‘Kobe Day'. But, at the same time, James took the opportunity to condemn another tragic incident where an unarmed African-American named Jacob Blake was shot multiple times by police officers.

“It's what we've been talking about and it's what we're going to continue to talk about. Having two boys of my own and me being an African-American in America and to see what continues to happen to police brutality towards my kind. [To] continue to see what goes on with just the injust. It's very troubling.” he added.

James was among the number of NBA players who initially came out with a statement regarding the Jacob Blake incident. He took to Twitter before the game to blast another incident of police brutality in America. With all eyes on him tonight as the Lakers took the court, James made sure that he wasn't going to let tonight's basketball game be a distraction to what's going on right now in the world.

“We play a beautiful game which brings so many great families together and people being able to rejoice and enjoy it but at the same time never losing track of what's really going on in our world especially in America. My prayers go out to that family. Hopefully we can have some change and I believe it starts in November. That's why I started the initiative that I'm doing with More Than A Vote and getting people to understand what's really at risk. We continue to talk about change and now we have the opportunity to make change but it still doesn't stop there.” James concluded.
