The NBA is attempting to increase the relevancy of the G League, and LeBron James approves of the direction the league is going. The superstar took to Twitter to announce his support for the decisions regarding the G League, and he also used the tweet to plug Klutch Sports — presumably for their signing of Darius Bazley.

Bazley is a high-profile talent who decided to forego college in hopes for a shot in the G League. Now he's rethinking his decision to enter the G League, but he is joining Klutch Sports and New Balance all the same. Bazley is forging a new path that could become more common in the coming years.

The NBA recently announced a decision to allow certain elite players to join the G League directly out of high school. Players still can't make the leap directly from high school to the NBA Draft, but this offers another option for players who don't want to go to college or travel overseas until they are draft eligible.

It's unclear whether or not this avenue to the NBA will become popular among high school players. Going to college is the route most players take, with a select few deciding to play overseas. Perhaps another option in the G League will coax top players to forego college.

Whether or not it becomes a popular choice, this is a good move by the NBA. The league is growing and expanding. The G League could move in on the NCAA's territory to a certain degree. It won't happen overnight and will almost certainly never completely push out the NCAA, but it can stake out its own claim as a viable option for young players.

Increased options for young players can't be a bad thing, and LeBron James is one of many who support the NBA's commitment to expanding the G League's influence.
