Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James couldn't be any happier after Liverpool striker Mo Salah signed a new contract with the team.

With just one year left on his deal with Liverpool, there were fears that the Egyptian scorer would leave Anfield after next season if he and the club couldn't agree to a new deal. However, to the delight of many, the 30-year-old signed a three-year extension that will reportedly pay him £350,000 a week, per Mirror.

After it was confirmed that Salah is staying, James–who owns a minority stake on the Premier League club–took to Instagram to share how happy he is for his fellow athlete, noting that the King “is here to stay.”

Clearly, the Lakers forward has no issue that Salah has just become the highest-paid player in Liverpool history.

Salah deserves it anyway.

Mo Salah has been sensational since arriving in Liverpool in 2017, having already bagged three Premier League Golden Boot awards . In 2021-22 alone, he tallied 23 goals to share the top-scorer award with Son Heung-min of the Tottenham Hotspur.

The Egyptian King has also managed to lead Liverpool to the Premier League title in 2019-20 and to Champions League glory in 2018-19.

LeBron James, for his part, has always been supportive of Liverpool. And with Salah committing to the club long-term, the Lakers star can be confident that his team will continue to contend for titles in the English top-flight and in other European competitions.
