LeBron James responds to Jazz broadcasters criticizing him for being shoeless on the court late in 4th quarter of Lakers win

Lakers-LeBron James

LeBron James barked back after a video clip of him rooting on his Los Angeles Lakers while shoeless in the fourth quarter went viral, as Utah Jazz broadcasters fumed about it.

“Look at LeBron, he’s on the court,” said play-by-play commentator Craig Bolerjack on the call.

“With no shoes, my god,” added color commentator Matt Harpring, “That’s some disrespect right there.”

The two later learned James had given his shoes away to a boy and girl that asked for them when he was resting on the bench, but that didn’t keep The King from unleashing wrath on his critics on Instagram.

“Imagine doing your job at the highest level to where you’re not needed anymore, giving your shoes to a lil girl and boy who you inspire and hoped you made proud that night, then cheering on your teammates cause you love seeing them succeed more than yourself only to be criticized while doing it,” James wrote on the video caption. “People it’s the world we live in and you can’t let it ever stop you from your purpose in life. Negativity, bad energy, hate, envy, etc etc will try to bring you down throughout your journey and it’s up to you on how you handle it. I handle it by simply saying “Thank You” with a 😁 on my face and continue to push forward while doing it! LIVE.LAUGH.LOVE”

Bolerjack and Harpring were outraged that James was allowed to be that far into the court while action was still going on, but given the 25-point loss the Jazz suffered Wednesday night, it likely had no real influence in the blowout either way.
