Lonzo Ball has been dealing with an ankle injury, but on Saturday Ball was seen during shootaround without any wrapping on the ankle in question per Dave McMenamin of ESPN. This comes after Ball tweaked his ankle in practice on Friday. The Lakers said he was day-to-day and it appears he's feeling comfortable enough to shootaround without much hesitation.

Don't look now, but Lonzo is taking a big step forward this season. Of course, his overall numbers are down, but so are his minutes. It's no surprise that his box score averages would take a similar hit. The biggest takeaway from Ball's season thus far is how well he's shooting this season. His shooting stroke was the biggest question mark around his game and he seems to be taking a major step forward.

Ball's overall field goal percentage and three-point percentage have both gone up by eight percent. That's a sizable jump for someone that many wrote off during his rookie season. His form still looks funky, but he's showing much more confidence as a catch-and-shoot guy.

Lonzo Ball and the Lakers take on the upstart Sacramento Kings on Saturday. Ball and De'Aaron Fox have a rivalry stretching back to their days at UCLA and Kentucky, respectively. Fox has gotten the better of Ball multiple times and conspiracy theorists love to spin theories that Ball is only trying to avoid another thrashing from Fox.

After participating in shootaround, if Ball doesn't play, those conspiracy theorists will have more fodder. If he does play, fans will get to watch two of the most talented young point guards in the league match up.
