In the 96-81 loss to the Utah Jazz, Lonzo Ball put the blame on himself for ‘two dumb plays' when the Los Angeles Lakers were trying to get back into the game. While it shows how badly Ball wants to win, there is a long season ahead of him.

As the Lakers prepare for the Detroit Pistons on Oct. 31, head coach Luke Walton was asked about his point guard taking the blame for the team's recent loss according to Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints:

As Ball showed his leadership following the loss, Walton says he is the type of player teammates like being around:

While there are certain perceptions of Ball because of his father, he is the leader President of Basketball Operations Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka are looking for at the point guard position. After recently turning 20 years old, his actions say a lot about him as he looks to earn the respect of the coaching staff and teammates.

To begin his rookie season, Ball is averaging 10.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.7 assists in 35.0 minutes. While he has shown his all-around game, Ball will need to be more efficient as he is currently shooting 31.1 percent from the field, 28.1 percent from the three-point line, and 55.6 percent from the free throw line.
