Luke Walton is “very pleased” with the progress that the Los Angeles Lakers young core is making this season, according to Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints.

The group consisting of Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and Kyle Kuzma have had their struggles, but they are making strides in the right direction as Luke Walton and the Lakers continue winning.

Ingram and Kuzma are both averaging in double figures while Hart and Ball are close as well. All four of the young Lakers are figuring out exactly where they fit in alongside their new teammate, LeBron James. As great as James is, learning to play with him is not something that happens overnight.

It takes time for chemistry to develop on any team with roster turnover. It takes even longer to do when a ball-dominant player with the insane talent level of LeBron steps into the mix.

The good news, however, is that once the young core figures things out, the Lakers could be a very dangerous squad. Any team with James is dangerous, and a team with LeBron and a bunch of young players with high ceilings is a recipe for success.

The Lakers have yet to fully hit their stride though. They are still sitting comfortably at 14-9, good enough for fifth place in the Western Conference. Of course, the West has 14 teams that will battle for playoff spots, so there's no guarantee of a postseason berth for Walton and Co.

But if the young core continues to progress, there's no telling where they might find themselves come May.
