After a disappointing 2020-21 season with the Lakers, it's safe to say Dennis Schroder isn't exactly popular in Los Angeles. Now with the Boston Celtics, Schroder and his new squad traveled to LA for a matchup with the Lakers on Tuesday night. When Schroder came up empty on an easy layup attempt, Lakers guard Rajon Rondo was trolling him with no remorse.

Dennis Schroder “smoked” the easy layup, so Rondo joyously decided to spark up an imaginary blunt and have a smoke himself. Rondo wants all the smoke when it comes to Schroder, and wasn't hiding the mockery in the slightest as he pranced around the Lakers bench with a big grin on his face.

Of course, Lakers fans will remember the crazy contract demands Schroder was seeking in discussions with the organization. Perhaps Rondo's reference was also a shot at the 28-year-old for aiming a bit too “high” with his salary request.

It looks as if the pressure of playing against his former team caught up to Schroder, who shot a pedestrian 1-for-6 from the field and 0-for-3 from 3-point range, finishing the night with 10 points and five assists across 32 minutes. The lowlight of his performance was certainly the missed layup, which was also probably the highlight of Rondo's evening considering the veteran did not play a single minute.
