Most fans are buzzing about the Los Angeles Lakers' newest addition Russell Westbrook, and for good reason. But even without him, LA was poised to win the title last season had Anthony Davis not gotten injured.

With a shiny new toy in town, the spotlight has been taken away from Anthony Davis just a tad, which might be exactly what he needs. Russell Westbrook can power the Lakers throughout the regular season while also being his usual, headline grabbing self while AD just makes sure he stays healthy without the pressure of carrying the load.

Lakers GM Rob Pelinka thinks this new situation has Anthony Davis primed and ready for a bounce back year. In speaking to the media about his star big man, he named the two goals he believes AD has for this year – and predicts that he's bound to accomplish them.

“I think there’s two primary goals,” said the Lakers GM Pelinla. “One is to win a championship for sure. He talks about that with his team. And then two, is he knows that he belongs to be in that saying of the most dominant and the best two-way player in the game. I think he has the skills and he is that player and he worked very hard this offseason. I think you’ll see him accomplish those two things with this season in my opinion.”

Anthony Davis, when healthy, is undoubtedly one of the most dominant players in the NBA. He'll have the perfect chance to remind everyone next season.
