Life has been unusual since the NBA restart, so much so that even Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka has been required to take on several different roles due to the limited workforce they have in Orlando, Florida.

Pelinka is the head honcho of one of the biggest sports franchises in the entire world, but despite his prestigious position, he has still been tasked to perform the most mundane of jobs inside the bubble. The 50-year-old, however, does not seem to mind.

“There’s no task that’s too low that we can’t come in and help,” the Lakers exec said, via Kyle Goon of the Orange County Register. “Especially when it comes to our players and their safety and servicing their needs.”

According to reports, Rob Pelinka has served as a rebounder during shootout and an occasional waterboy during water breaks. He has even been seen mopping the floor from sweat during practices. Clearly, Pelinka has no problem going down from his hill.

Every single person has his role to play for the organization, and given the circumstances, roles are now intertwined. This is the message the Lakers GM is trying to send here, leading impressively by example.

The Lakers have already clinched the top spot in the West and can now afford to sit back a bit as they wait for the playoffs to kick in. Occasional nights off for their stars are to be expected, with the objective of keeping them fresh for the grueling postseason ahead.
