Shaquille O'Neal's daughter, Taahirah, surprised her father with a pair of portraits of ā€œThe Dieselā€ and his late Los Angeles Lakers teammate, Kobe Bryant.

Shaq posted a video of the portraits, interspersed with clips from a one-on-one interview O'Neal did with Lakers co-star Bryant back in 2018.

This comes just one day after the first anniversary of the tragic helicopter crash killing Bryant, his daughter, Gianna, and seven others last January.

O'Neal, much like the millions across the globe, was heartbroken by the news of Bryant's death. He lamented not speaking to his old friend and Lakers teammate more, consistently referring to Kobe as his little brother. Shaq's raw emotion days after Bryant's passing was tremendously sad, but it also spoke to the impact Kobe had on peers and common citizens alike.

ā€œKobe and Shaqā€ will always be synonymous in Lakers history.

The two superstars sparked one of the most dominant dynasties in NBA history, winning three consecutive NBA titles between 2000 and 2002 and becoming perhaps the greatest one-two punch in the history of the game.

Much was made of the animosity between O'Neal and Bryant following their breakup in 2004. It was a subject ripe for media coverage, but one of the two consistently tried to bury towards the end of their careers and in post-basketball life. Shaq in particular loved to refer to the conflict as a product of media hype.

First and foremost, O'Neal and Bryant will be linked for their incredible partnership on the floor, and the brotherhood they established in the early 2000s.

Now, Shaq has side-by-side portraits to commemorate that magical Lakers duo, thanks to his daughter.
