While LeBron James remains out due to a foot injury, Skip Bayless has found a way to diss him thanks to Los Angeles Lakers swingman Austin Reaves.
Sure enough, it shouldn't be a surprise that Bayless will do everything just to mention LeBron in his takes since he knows it will bring him views. At this point, however, it's just funny to see the lengths he'd go to just to mock the Lakers star.
That was the case once again on Sunday after Reaves exploded for 35 points to power the Purple and Gold over the Orlando Magic. Reaves made headlines and sent NBA Twitter into frenzy after he went 9-of-14 from the field and made 16 of his 18 freebies en route to the 30-piece.
In reaction to the big night from the sophomore rising star, Bayless suggested that the Lakers don't need LeBron at all.
“Who needs Bron when you have “Hillbilly Kobe”? Tonight Austin Reaves had some George Reeves in him. Dare I say he's … athletic?” Bayless said.
We get the hype about Austin Reaves. The youngster stepped up big time and deserves all the praise he's getting. However, for Skip Bayless to actually use it as an opportunity to mock James only highlights his hater status.
Besides, he could have simply heaped praise on Reaves without putting down another man.
Of course it's not like LeBron James cares about anything that Skip says. Based on his reaction to Reaves' performance, he's definitely just ecstatic to see his team win and hold the fort while he is out and injured.
