On Wednesday, Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka announced that the team has decided to pick up the player option for Stanley Johnson for the upcoming season. The 26-year-old joined the Lakers last term and it is clear that he's made quite an impression on the front office.

Johnson took to Twitter to share his heartfelt reaction to this big news:

ā€œGod is good God is great šŸ™šŸ½ā€ Johnson wrote in his tweet.Ā

It was a simple, six-word reaction from Johnson, but it is clear that he's extremely thankful for the opportunity to run it back with LeBron James and Co. next season.

In 2021-22, Johnson averaged 6.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 22.8 minutes per contest. He's no star, but there's also no denying that he was a key part of the rotation for the Lakers last season. It also appears like the 6-foot-6 forward now figures in the plans of new head coach Darvin Ham.

It is worth noting that along with Johnson, the Lakers also decided to pick up the team option for Wenyen Gabriel for 2022-23. Gabriel will now join Johnson as both players look to fight for minutes in what should be an interesting rotation for the upcoming campaign.
