Tragedy struck the NBA world after it was announced that Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant is among the nine people killed in a a helicopter crash. Players around the league have since offered their condolences while describing just how much of an impact he had on them and the game of basketball.

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry is the latest to give his prayers following the devastating news, via ClutchPoints NBA:

Curry had been one of Bryant's fiercest competitors during the final stage of his career with the Lakers. The two have certainly shared their fair number of notable moments on the court together. In a way, there was a passing of the torch between two of the leagues most notable deep 3-point shooters.

For many of players, Bryant had become the standard of excellence when it came to going about achieving greatness. His reputation as a tireless worker and fierce competitor had manifested into the “Mamba Mentality” that is so prevalent in today's stars.

As successful as he was on the court, the Lakers legend was already off to a tremendous start, piecing together his second act as an Oscar winner and co-founder of the Mamba Sports Academy. More importantly, the commitment to his family as a husband and a father was one of the most heartwarming aspects of his post-retirement career.

There is no question Kobe Bryant's sudden and unexpected death is one of the biggest tragedies in NBA history. That fact that his daughter Gianna Bryant was also among the victims only serves to solidify this notion.
