Los Angeles Lakers rookie forward Svi Mykhailiuk says that LeBron James seems like a normal person. Mykhailiuk is a Ukrainian product that was selected as a second-rounder in the 2018 NBA Draft. He played his college ball at Kansas and s ready to play alongside the best player in the game as soon as possible.

“It’s great to be able to play with him. What can I say? He’s the best player in the world and has a lot of knowledge of the game. I’ll try to learn from him as much as I can,” said Svi Mykhailiuk in an interview with as.com.

Mykhailiuk became the youngest player in Big 12 history when he made his debut at Kansas as a 17-year-old freshman. The 6-foot-8 rookie's claim to fame is his sharp shooting. He averaged 14.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists as a senior. He shot just over 40 percent from 3-point range in his college career. As a senior, he shot 44 percent from deep, leading the nation for a large part of the 2017-18 season.

It's unclear what Mykhailiuk's role will be on this Lakers team. LeBron James is at his best when he plays with spot up shooters that can stroke it from the corners. If Mykhailiuk can find consistency from NBA range, he can make himself serviceable. He looked impressive in his summer league performance in Las Vegas over the summer.

While they Lakers won't be depending on his shooting this year, he will have the opportunity to grow in a nurturing environment that suits his skillset.
