Talen Horton-Tucker issues desperate plea on Kobe Bryant shoes
Los Angeles Lakers guard Talen Horton-Tucker is as shocked as everyone following reports that Nike did not renew Kobe Bryant’s contract with the company, which expired last April 13. After all, the late NBA icon has been with the sporting giant since 2003 and produced 11 signature shoes.
To this day, a lot of current NBA players don Kobes to continue to honor his legacy. THT is certainly one of them. Anticipating the upcoming shortage of Kobe shoes following Nike’s decision, Horton-Tucker made a plea to sellers on Monday to cop some Kobes (via Dan Woike of LA Times).
"I'm putting the call out right now. Whoever can get me any Kobes, I need 'em." – Talen Horton-Tucker on the pending Nike/Kobe shortage today's news could create

To be fair, Horton-Tucker would probably have to fend off the general public (not to mention other NBA players) to get himself a couple of Kobes before stock runs out. Nike is reportedly still releasing a limited number of Kobe kicks sometime this year. But looks like it will be the last batch of Nike will ever release. Re-sellers will have a field day buying and selling those pairs and even THT might need some strong connections to get his hands on one.
The 20-year-old guard is enjoying a solid sophomore season for the Purple and Gold, norming 9.0 points on 44.6 percent shooting from the field, along with 2.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and one steal in 53 games. He is coming off a 24-point outing against the Utah Jazz on Monday.
There’s no denying that Kobe Bryant had a big influence on Talen Horton-Tucker’s game. To quote the famed T’Challa/Marvel meme, Nike better give this man his Kobes.
