Los Angeles Lakers guard Troy Daniels had an interesting take during Media Day, noting his signing with the purple-and-gold was a no-brainer since general manager Rob Pelinka called, given that the Golden State Warriors had surgical changes in their roster.

“When Rob Pelinka called, it was a no-brainer for me,” said Daniels. “Golden State is kind of dismantled and I was getting ready to leave for a while and I think we have a chance to win championships here.”

Daniels is by no means a veteran chasing championships, as he's only played six NBA seasons in his career — yet it looks like he chose to sign with who he thought was the frontrunner for a title, after the Warriors sustained a series of changes after the departure of Kevin Durant.

While the Warriors could take offense at the “dismantled” word, this is far from the worst thing that has been said about them this offseason, as several analysts and pundits have considered them out of playoff contention, despite being the only team in the league to boast four All-Star-caliber players when fully health.

Daniels has not been shy of sparking arguments before, getting into it with former teammate Devin Booker before he was traded to the Suns, which likely made for an awkward introduction at the start of the 2017-18 season.

The Lakers went out to get Daniels, a 40% career 3-point shooter, in hopes of improving their perimeter game, which was second-worst in the league last season at 33%.
