ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski trolled Los Angeles Lakers fans during one of his latest podcasts, with Jared Dudley as part of the story.

Wojnarowski had a podcast on Tuesday in which he sounded serious in his introductory statement. The popular NBA insider said that the Lakers fans have wanted a 6-foot-7 forward from San Diego who is a free agent and played in the Eastern Conference, and they got what they asked for.

Based on the description, fans will think that Woj was referring to Kawhi Leonard. Leonard played in San Diego State in college, and currently a free agent after his stint with Eastern Conference powerhouse Toronto Raptors. However, it turned out that Woj was referring to another player – Jared Dudley.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Dudley agreed to a one-year deal worth $2.6 million with the Lakers. Los Angeles reportedly signed the 33-year-old forward to bring another veteran presence inside the locker room, and they are intrigued with the “versatile and savvy game” that he showed over the past several seasons.

Dudley is coming off a decent year with the Brooklyn Nets, where he averaged 4.9 points and 2.6 rebounds in 20.7 minutes in 59 games, including 25 starts. His numbers will not turn heads, but the former Boston College standout was well loved in the franchise because of his veteran leadership and toughness on the court.
