It goes without saying that at the moment, Russell Westbrook is not exactly the most well-loved individual among Los Angeles Lakers fans. The former league MVP did not help his cause when he decided to snub LeBron James during one of LA's Summer League games last week.

Both Westbrook and LeBron were in attendance at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas during one of the Lakers' Summer League contests. They were sitting on opposite sides of the court, though, and there appeared to be no public acknowledgment between the pair throughout the game. Both Westbrook and LeBron ended up not speaking with each other during the event before leaving the arena through separate entrances.

According to Kyle Goon of the Orange County Register, certain members of the Lakers organization do not see this development as coincidental. As a matter of fact, there are some from the team who believe that there could be more to this than what's on the surface:

The subtext of the chilly scene seemed clear: Several people within the Lakers organization acknowledged it was an awkward and tense moment between its two most high-profile superstars, sources told Southern California News Group.

This highly-publicized incident has led many to believe that there is some growing tension between Russ and LeBron James/the Lakers. It's no secret that LA is trying to trade Westbrook this offseason, so perhaps he is just doing his best to make their parting of ways as “easy” as possible — in a very Russell Westbrook way, of course.
