Kyrie Irving's potential move to the Los Angeles Lakers to reunite with LeBron James has been a major talking point as of late, and apparently, there is some truth about the rumor.

After reaching an impasse on his contract negotiations with the Brooklyn Nets, Irving's future with the team has been put into question. There are a lot of teams who are reportedly interested in trading for him, with the Lakers said to be one of them.

In fact, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN claimed earlier that “the Lakers are considered the most significant threat right now” for Irving–even though that means the veteran guard could miss out $30 million in his next contract.

Now according to NBA insider Marc Stein, Irving and James had recent “contact” with each other and were assumed to have discussed possibly teaming up. Nonetheless, Stein highlighted that LA's interest in the All-Star playmaker might be exaggerated.

There are credible rumblings in circulation that Irving, for starters, has indeed had some recent contact with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, his former Cleveland teammate, to presumably discuss a potential reunion in Hollywood. I’m told it would be a stretch, though, to suggest that the Lakers are currently pursuing Irving.

This is certainly an interesting situation for Kyrie Irving, LeBron James and the Lakers. As Stein noted, the general expectation around the league is that Kyrie and the Nets will be able to hash it out in a bid not to alienate Kevin Durant.

Not to mention that Irving himself has committed to stay with Brooklyn after their season ended, with the only issue being the Nets' willingness to offer him a longer deal.

Of course it will be intriguing to see LeBron and Kyrie play again, but their reunion certainly won't be simple and will require several moving parts.
