It comes to no surprise that the Los Angeles Lakers are currently being linked to a handful of players from around the league as the trade deadline draws nearer. LA hasn't exactly been the best team in the NBA during the first half of the season and at this point, it only makes sense that the team is looking to shake up the roster.

Several big names have already emerged as potential targets for the Lakers and right now, LeBron James and Co. are being linked to a former teammate of Stephen Curry with the Golden State Warriors. This report comes via Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report:

The Lakers have explored several trades ahead of the February 10 trade deadline. Sources indicate they have looked at players like Ben Simmons, Jerami Grant, Myles Turner and Harrison Barnes, among others.

We've covered LA's links to Simmons, Grant, and Turner intensively, but among the players mentioned in the above report, Barnes stands out as a relatively new name for the Lakers.

Barnes, who started off his career playing alongside Curry with the Warriors, currently plies his trade with the Sacramento Kings. There have already been whispers about the 29-year-old veteran's availability in the trade market and now the Lakers are expected to be in the mix.

Currently averaging 16.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.1 triples per game on a 41.9% clip, Barnes could prove to be a good fit alongside LeBron in Hollywood. It's no secret that the Lakers could use some help in the wing and adding a reliable scorer like Barnes could be beneficial for LA.

Barnes, whose current deal will expire at the end of the 2022-23 season, won't come for cheap, though. The Kings will certainly ask for a handsome price in exchange for the 6-foot-8 forward. Talen Horton-Tucker is without a doubt the Lakers' most valuable trade asset at the moment and it would not be surprising if he is sent in the opposite direction—along with a few other pieces—in a potential deal for Harrison Barnes. In fact, THT is expected to be the centerpiece of any trade the Lakers might pull the trigger on in the coming weeks.
