At this point in the offseason, NBA teams are filling out the remainder of their training camp rosters. However, there are still some notable free agents available like Shabazz Muhammad.

As the Minnesota Timberwolves only have the veteran's minimum to offer Muhammad, the fourth-year forward is considering signing with the Lakers according to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report:

By reuniting with former agent and current general manager Rob Pelinka, the Lakers currently have their $4.3 million room exception to offer:

After averaging 9.9 points and 2.8 rebounds last season for head coach Tom Thibodeau, the Timberwolves made significant changes to their roster with the additions of Jimmy Butler, Jeff Teague, Taj Gibson, and Jamal Crawford. While teammates have been recruiting Muhammad, it appears he is looking elsewhere.

For the Lakers, it is unclear who Brandon Ingram's backup will be for the 2017-18 NBA season with Luol Deng and Corey Brewer likely battling for minutes in head coach Luke Walton's rotation. With an opportunity to play minutes, Muhammad could be returning to Los Angeles after his lone season at UCLA.
