The talk of the town over the past few days is about LeBron James potentially leaving the Los Angeles Lakers to return to his beloved Cleveland Cavaliers. While it may have sounded outrageous at first, the fact that this rumor continues to pick up steam seems to point to the fact that there could be some truth behind it.

NBA insider Shams Charania has weighed in on the subject and according to his sources, it does not sound like LeBron is parting ways with the Lakers anytime soon:

“I personally don't see a scenario where LeBron James is bolting from the Lakers to the Cavs,” Shams said on Wednesday's episode of the Pat McAfee Show. “From everything I've been told his plan is to be a Laker for the foreseeable future and ride this out.”

Shams is one of the most plugged-in reporters around the NBA and more often than not, his reports are accurate. In this particular case, if what he's saying is true, then Shams' statement here pours some ice-cold water on the rumors linking LeBron to the Cavs.

You have to note, though, that Shams said LeBron wasn't leaving Hollywood in the “foreseeable future.” This is, of course, open to interpretation. What is true now might not be come the offseason.
