JaVale McGee was in the Halloween spirit on Wednesday when it came time to answer questions in the locker room about the Los Angeles Lakers’ one-point victory over the Dallas Mavericks. He was in full costume when reporters began interviewing him , and it wasn’t a simple costume he was wearing … it was a full Grinch outfit.

It’s never a dull moment with the Lakers center. McGee has always been one of the more interesting NBA personalities on and off the court. This is another example of the reason why he has become one of the more beloved players around the league. He’s never taking himself too seriously.

Not to mention, McGee is having one of the best years of his career with the Lakers this season. He’s averaging a career-high 15.5 points per game and is leading the league with an eye-popping 3.3 blocks per game. He’s chipping in with 7.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game as well.

The Lakers are having trouble finding minutes at the center position. Luke Walton is still working on finding a suitable center for his second unit. They’ve experimented with LeBron James and Kyle Kuzma, among others, at the 5, but they are fortunate to have JaVale McGee shouldering the majority of the load at the position.

McGee’s production has been one of the early-season surprises, and he’s helping save Luke Walton and the Lakers from an even tougher situation.
