The Los Angeles Lakers have made it to the finals of the 2018 Summer League and are, as of this writing, playing against the Portland Trail Blazers in a title matchup. Winning such tournament isn’t the ultimate goal of the Lakers, but team president of basketball operations Magic Johnson made sure that he’s going to catch the game in person. Magic’s presence provides a boost for the Lakers, who surely don’t want to lose in front of the Hall of Famer.

Other than Johnson, Lance Stephenson is also in Las Vegas to watch the game. The two even crossed paths while Johnson was in the broadcast booth. Stephenson sneaked behind Johnson and gave the Lakers great a tap on the shoulder.

It’s hilarious how Johnson reacted as though he was greeted by Larry Bird or someone whom he had not seen in decades when in fact it was only Stephenson dropping by to say hi.

Johnson put some bit of pressure on Stephenson’s shoulders, too, when he told the swingman “you’re going to turn it up this year.”

Johnson and the Lakers signed Stephenson to a one-year deal worth $4.5 million this summer.

Last season, Stephenson averaged 9.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 82 games for the Indiana Pacers.
