The Los Angeles Lakers matched up against the Sacramento Kings at Staples Center Wednesday night for a Pre-Thanksgiving showdown.

Two of the draft's biggest rookies, Lonzo Ball and De'Aaron Fox will always be an exciting match up for years to come, but the night wasn't about one versus the other.

Ball has been struggling with his offense this season, mainly on his jump shot which has prompted coach Luke Walton to sit the young point guard during the fourth quarters of games. It hasn't been all bad because Lonzo Ball has shown flashes of what's to come, attaining triple doubles, even garnering praise from Cavs star LeBron James.

LaVar Ball sent some criticisms towards the Lakers saying they were coaching his son too soft, suggesting to give Lonzo more time rather than pull him out of games.

The young Lakers are learning how to win together, even if that means adding a few wrinkles here and there into the offense. There is more than one way to score and that's what Walton has been cooking up in the lab.

A new play in the Lakers' playbook has been implemented to put Ball in position to score, and it's been working well. Once at the top of the key, Ball passes then receives a back screen as he cuts to the rim for an alley-oop.

Not only has Ball been able to show a bit of his athleticism, but he did it again against the Kings Wednesday night, throwing down an insane dunk over big man Willie Cauley-Stein.
