NBA on TNT just released a teaser trailer of the Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal sit-down conversation. Their conversation will revolve mostly around their relationship during their years with the L.A. Lakers and conceivably could include the years thereafter.

The excerpt teases the no-holds-barred nature of this dialogue between the Laker legends who had a tumultuous relationship during their last few years together. As the teaser showed, one of the issues Bryant had with O’Neal back then was his penchant for coming to training camp out of shape.

The 7-foot-1, 300-pound center was the closest thing to an unstoppable force as any the league had ever seen. But he would come to camp overweight thinking that this was the venue for him to get back into his ideal playing weight. O’Neal had various interests that kept him busy during the summer and that played a huge part in his philosophy.

The added weight on O’Neal’s body while playing took its toll on his knees and it would bother him during the season. In Bryant’s mind, O’Neal wasn’t taking his job seriously enough.

For his part, Bryant worked out daily during the summer in the hopes of becoming a better player. He would come into training camp in great shape and would always add to his repertoire of moves for the coming season. Bryant transformed himself into one of the most dangerous weapons in the NBA.

He was always serious, and basketball was his whole world. Nothing else mattered.

O’Neal’s fun-loving and playful personality clashed with Bryant’s focused, hard-working mentality. And this is likely one of the hot topics that will be discussed when the episode airs during All-Star Weekend.

This is must-see TV for any NBA fan.

As the teaser says, make sure to clear your schedule for Saturday 7 PM ET on TNT.
