Epic Games recently released the latest Fortnite update. This hotfix brings us a variety of nerfs and buffs, but mostly nerfs, especially for cars. Let's dive into the details of this Fortnite update below.
Latest Fortnite Update – Buffs & Nerfs
Here is a list of all the nerfs and buffs brought to us by the latest Fortnite update. This list is from a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) of the prominent Fortnite leaker, HYPEX last June 8, 2024.
- Nitro Splash Max Stack increased from 4 to 6
- Nitro Energy gives infinite stamina now
- Vehicle Machine Guns Damage nerfed from 30 to 27
- Vehicle Machine Guns Fire Rate nerfed by 7%
- Vehicle Grenade Launcher Damage nerfed from 70 to 65
- Nitro Gauntlets Damage to Builds nerfed by 50%
- Nitro Gauntlets Air Punch Damage nerfed from 70 to 50
- Explosive Bow Builds Damage nerfed from 90/95/99/104 to 45/47/50/52
- Tactical AR Damage Buffed from 19/20/21/22/23 to 20/21/22/23/24
- Harbinger SMG Fire Rate Buffed by 5%
- Harbinger SMG Reload time Buffed by 4%

Epic Games has already released some hot fixes prior to the latest update on Fortnite listed above. And yes, as you have guessed, cars were already nerfed in this hotfix. Below is the list of the updates made by Epic Games. This list was posted on the game's official X account.

- Unvaulted Boogie Bombs
- Reduced Machine Gun turret accuracy and Grenade Launcher turret damage to structures.
- Reduced vehicle health in Solos.
- Boss cars do not automatically regen health anymore.
- Boosted damage dealt to vehicles from Boom Bolts.
- Increased Nitro Gauntlets recharge time.
- Reduced Nitro shoulder bash damage to players.
Fans quickly express their reactions to these updates in the replies. Some players agree with nerfing the cars, while others are completely disappointed. These reactions are entirely understandable. Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 introduced numerous cars and vehicle modifications, leading some fans to believe they could finally enjoy the game without stressing much about winning. However, the majority of players were shocked by the sudden shift in gameplay from tactical to merely roaming around using cars with guns. Now that the Fortnite latest update has nerfed cars, it's possible that players who dislike cars at the beginning of this season might come back and play again. Who knows, maybe we would all ditch the cars and go back to running around the map again on foot.
