The moment both Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon went down with injuries during the Orlando Magic's game against the Toronto Raptors, the entire fan base held their collective breath.

Orlando's two star bigs both sustained an ankle injury during Wednesday night's game, and there's no clear idea as to when they will be able to return to the basketball court and help the Magic win games.

Both Vucevic and Gordon are in crutches after their 113-97 defeat to Toronto, which worries plenty of Magic fans about their future. Fortunately, initial X-rays on their ankles came out negative.

It's still not good that both of Orlando's key players are walking around in crutches. But that fact that neither of their ankles showed any damage is encouraging for the franchise. This means that they will be able to get their players sooner rather than later.

The Magic are barely in the playoff picture early in the season, and that doesn't bode well for their hopes of improvement. With their frontcourt duo likely out of commission for a few games, the rest of the team would have to do some heavy lifting in order to get things done.

Vucevic is averaging a solid 18.2 points, 12.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists this season. It will be hard to replace such numbers during the time he's away, but the team is hopeful that he'll be able to return soon. Meanwhile, Gordon's 13.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists are enough to attract the attention of several NBA teams.

Things aren't going very well for the Magic, but it could have been worse. At least, they will only have to wait for their stars to become healthy again before they can aim for a better spot in the East.
