The NBA has suspended Orlando Magic forward Arron Afflalo for two games without pay for striking Minnesota Timberwolves forward Nemanja Bjelica in the face during a Tuesday night matchup, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

The league did not dish out any punishment for Bjelica, as his headlock on Afflalo was used merely to stop him from throwing any further punches, as one of his haymaker attempts nearly connected fully with his head.

Afflalo and Bjelica had both been assessed a technical foul each after both players exchanged words following Bjelica's challenge of an Afflalo layup attempt in the second quarter.

Four minutes later, Bjelica cut into the lane and collided head squarely with Afflalo. The two players were assessed another technical foul when they fight broke out, prompting a double ejection.

Afflalo lunged a right-handed haymaker that grazed the left side of Bjelica’s head. The Timberwolves' hot-shooting forward put Afflalo into a headlock, as coaches and security personnel from both sides rushed onto the court to stop the fight from escalating.

This punishment by the league is parallel to the one received by Houston Rockets forwards Trevor Ariza and Gerald Green, after the two were found the main aggressors of a locker room fiasco against the L.A. Clippers on Monday night.

Both investigations took two entire days, as the league did its due diligence with gathering facts in order to make a fair ruling. Look for Mario Hezonja to garner more minutes at guard/forward with Afflalo's absence in the next couple of games.
