The Orlando Magic will receive a huge boost this coming Wednesday, as their promising rookie, Jonathan Isaac, is on track to make his return to action when they host the Toronto Raptors inside Amway Center, according to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel. Isaac last saw action on Dec. 26.

The 20-year-old Florida State product has not been able to suit up for the team so far this year as he has been hampered by a lingering ankle injury. He has only appeared in 15 games so far this season and is averaging 5.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game. Isaac did see action for the Lakeland Magic on Saturday to help him prepare for his return and received 19 minutes of playing time, finishing with eight points, on 3-of-8 shooting, with three rebounds, three steals, and an assist.

Jonathan Isaac's impending return will give him a chance to end his rookie season on a high note, and allow him to regain his confidence and old form, which should help set him up for a better sophomore year.

Isaac entered the campaign as one of the highly touted prospects from the NCAA, but it was unfortunate that he had to remain on the shelf for a significant amount of time due to the injury.

If he can string a few solid performances together, not only will the Magic be able to finish the year with a more respectable record, but it will also give Isaac a lot of momentum which he can carry next season and make him a better player as his career progresses.

The former Seminole was taken by the Magic sixth overall in last year's NBA Draft. He has played in only 15 games this season, averaging 5.3 points on only 40.5 percent shooting from the floor and 3.7 rebounds. He is behind Aaron Gordon in the power forward pecking order.
