Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac likes what he's seeing from former first overall pick Markelle Fultz.

In a recent interview with OrlandoMagic.com, Isaac said that Fultz has been working hard all summer, eager to prove what he can really do as a player.

“Markelle has been working his butt off this summer. I’ve gotten a chance to be in the gym with him and hang out and he’s working really hard. He’s doing what he’s got to do to be successful this season.,” Isaac said.

Fultz, the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, has been riddled with injuries in his first two years in the league. He has only played in a total of 30 NBA games, averaging 7.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists. The Philadelphia 76ers ultimately decided to trade him to the Magic just before the February 2019 trade deadline.

The Magic will look to build from their successful playoff bid last season, and they are certainly hoping Fultz can help them make a deeper postseason run in the upcoming campaign. Orlando lost to the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the 2019 playoffs.

Fultz was a top pick for a reason, and the Magic undoubtedly see him as a worthwhile gamble in their quest to build a contender. If Fultz manages to recover and return to his old, dominant self, he could very well take Orlando to the next level.

However, until the season starts, all we could do is hope that Fultz will finally come out of his shell and show us what he's truly made of.
