The setbacks keep coming for Orlando Magic big man Jonathan Isaac. His latest injury update wiped out yet another season from his young career.

Jonathan Isaac had already sat out the entire 2020-21 NBA season due to a torn ACL suffered during the NBA bubble in Orlando. The hope and expectation was for him to make his Magic return this season, but things haven't gone according to plan as he reportedly underwent yet another surgery for an injury on his right hamstring suffered during his rehab process.

“Obviously, this was unexpected,” said Magic president Jeff Weltman. “No one will work harder than Jonathan in the goal to return for the start of next season.”

Jonathan Isaac was seen as a rising star during his third NBA season, truly coming into his own for the Magic as a defensive juggernaut. He averaged 2.3 blocks in his 34 games played during the 2018-19 season while having career highs in field goal and three-point shooting.

Injuries have wiped away any momentum that Jonathan Isaac has had towards becoming a foundational piece for the Magic roster. As it stands, Orlando has two big men under development in Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter Jr. How things shake out next season, assuming a healthy Jonathan Isaac, remains to be seen.
