As far as the list of the NBA’s best centers goes, the name of Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic often gets shunted aside.

The under-appreciated slotman quietly etched himself in the Magic’s record books once more after producing 23 points, 16 rebounds and six assists in the team’s easy 118-86 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.

Per StatMuse, the 29-year-old Montenegrin has tied NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal for the most games with at least 20 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists in team history. O’Neal played in four seasons with the Magic from 1992 to 1996, while Vucevic has been with the team since 2012.

Vucevic emerged as a bonafide star for Orlando last year, getting himself his first career All-Star nod after averaging 20.8 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists.

Often criticized for his lack of defense in his early years in the league, he made significant improvements on that end notching 1.0 steal and 1.1 block per game while also upping his 3-point accuracy to 36.4 percent.

Vucevic was one of the most prized centers in the offseason, but he opted to stay with the Magic after signing a massive four-year, $100 million deal.

Orlando has struggled out of the gates this year, winning only three of their first nine games of the season. Vucevic’s numbers have taken a slight dip since signing the extension, as he only averages 17.0 points, 10.9 and 3.2 assists in nine contests.

His shooting percentages have also declined, making only 43.2 percent from the field and 21.9 from beyond the arc.
