The Orlando Magic got another body to add to their crowded injury list. That’s center Nikola Vucevic, who sustained a fractured hand in the first half of Saturday night’s road game against the Washington Wizards. He has been ruled out of the game and for at least 6-8 weeks, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

This is a big blow for the downward-spiraling Magic, who entered the Wizards game on the heels of a seven-game win streak. With Vucevic out, expect Bismack Biyombo to pick up heavy minutes at the center position moving forward. Biyombo, however, is nowhere near the quality of Vucevic on offense, so the Magic will have to rely on their other remaining healthy players to step up offensively. Also set to see an increase in usage is third-string big man Marreese Speights.

On the season, the 27-year-old Vucevic is averaging 17.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game, while shooting 49.2 percent from the field. He also owns a 34.3 shooting percentage clip from deep.

Vucevic joins Terrence Ross, Evan Fournier, and Aaron Gordon on the Magic’s injury list, leaving Elfrid Payton as the only active player as of the moment among the Magic’s starting five on opening night.
