At this time of year, teams are looking to fill out their NBA and G League rosters, including the Orlando Magic. The Magic have signed Gabe York and B.J. Johnson to Exhibit 10 deals, according to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel.

Johnson is an undrafted player out of La Salle University, while Gabe York is coming over from Medi Bayreuth in Germany. The Magic confirmed the moves:

Exhibit 10 deals are relatively new and are utilized by teams to fill out their G League rosters. If a player is waived by the NBA team, they receive a signing bonus to play for the team's G League affiliate.

In this case, Johnson and York will likely head to Lakeland. They will need to remain on the G League roster for at least 60 days in order to collect their signing bonus. Additionally, the contracts can be converted to two-way deals in certain situations.

That being said, the Magic already have two players signed to two-way contracts. Troy Caupain and Amile Jefferson will be jumping back and forth between Orlando and Lakeland this season.

The Magic are looking to rebound after a disappointing season last year. The Magic finished with a record of 25-57 in 2017-18, and the team has not made the playoffs since the 2011-12 season. But Orlando has a new hire at head coach in Steve Clifford and a possible superstar in Mo Bamba.

Johnson and York are joining a lot of young talent in Orlando and could be part of a resurgence.
