Despite pulling off a 104-101 upset against the heavily favored Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic head coach Steve Clifford believes that the team can do better on the offensive end in Game Two.
The Magic, who sealed their Game One win with a game-winning 3-pointer from veteran guard DJ Augustine, shot 40 percent from the field and an impressive 48 percent from behind the arc.
Although Orlando did not struggle much on offense, they were also unable to maintain huge lead during the first half. They were up by as much as 16 points before allowing the Raptors to make a 20-2 run in between the second and third quarters.
Heading into the fourth quarter, the Magic were down by 76-65 and were still trailing by six in the final six minutes of play before making a 10-2 run that helped keep them within striking distance. The game wasn't decided until the final seconds of the game.
The Raptors, one of the most capable defensive teams in the league, will look to even the series at one game apiece on Tuesday.
If the Magic would like to take a commanding 2-0 lead, they cannot allow themselves to be stagnant on the offensive end. The next time they blow a huge lead against Toronto, they might not be as fortunate as last night.
Clifford will need to find a way to help his team find consistent scoring from everyone on the roster and they will also need to find a way to break their opponents' defense if they want to head back to Orlando up 2-0.
