Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has finally addressed the incident he was involved in following their frustrating Premier League loss to Everton.

The Red Devils failed to win their second straight league game after drawing 1-1 to Leicester City last weekend. This time, however, things got more frustrating for them as they bowed down 1-0 to an Everton team that is in danger of being relegated.

Ronaldo was clearly disappointed with the result, so much so that he wasn't able to stop himself from pouring his frustrations to a fan. As he and the rest of Manchester United were heading to the tunnel following the defeat, Ronaldo was caught on camera slamming the phone of an Everton supporter to the ground.

That's definitely not a good look for Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United, with plenty of viewers criticizing the striker for his actions. While he might be angry and injured–which probably fueled his emotional outburst further–he just can't lash out at fans like that.

Sure enough, it didn't take long for him to reflect on his actions as he eventually apologized. He also sent out an invitation to the fan he did wrong to watch a game at Old Trafford so he can make up for it.

“It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing. Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, patient and set the example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game,” Ronaldo wrote on Instagram. “I would like to apologize for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair-play and sportsmanship.”

It remains to be seen if there will be further punishments on Cristiano Ronaldo and what the Premier League will do about it. Nonetheless, it's a good thing the veteran striker quickly addressed the matter before it becomes a bigger issue.

For what it's worth, it's unknown of the said Everton fan will accept the invitation. Manchester United play at Old Trafford next weekend, during which they will face Norwich City.
