Manchester United are set to lose Paul Pogba this summer as his contract with the club expires in June. He has been linked to a slew of Europe's top clubs, including Man United's inner-city rivals, Manchester City. According to reports, however, Pogba has turned down a move to join the Citizens due to fear of backlash from Manchester United fans.

A move to Manchester City could certainly be enticing for Pogba, where he'd link up with superstar players such as Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland while playing under legendary head coach Pep Guardiola. Still, the scrutiny he'd face from Manchester United fans, in front of whom he's played for the past six years, would be extreme and may prove too much for Pogba to handle.

It could be more likely that he prefers a move overseas to a club such as PSG, Juventus, or one of the Spanish giants in Real Madrid or Barcelona, where he could avoid that type of response altogether.

Manchester United fans will certainly be pleased to hear their star midfielder isn't so keen on a move to their crosstown rivals, who figure to be at the forefront of the Premier League title race in 2022-23, something Pogba wasn't able to achieve at Manchester United.

It remains to be seen where Pogba will land, but those hoping to see him make a move out of England rather than join the Red Devils' rivals are sure to be pleased by these latest reports, which suggest a move out of the country is most likely for the 29-year-old.
