Manchester United has been blown away by Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival but is now ready to address the contract renewal of Bruno Fernandes.

After reportedly working on it for several months now, Manchester United is finally extending Bruno Fernandes’ contract, The Sun reported.

The Portuguese midfielder is now set to ink a fresh five-year deal with Manchester United which, per the report, is expected to be around the region of “more than £250,000-a-week.”

If the report is to be accurate, Fernandes will get to enjoy a nearly £100,000-a-week increase with his new contract.

Manchester United is expected to announce Fernandes’ contract extension within the next few weeks.

Renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, on the other hand, has revealed that Fernandes’ contract has become “a priority” for Manchester United.

According to Romano, the 27-year-old’s qualities on and off the pitch has certainly made it easy for the club to come up with the decision.

“There is a lot of optimism. They are working on it since the start of July in a positive and confident atmosphere,” Romano said of Fernandes’ situation on a recent episode of The Here We Go Podcast. “They are close, because Bruno wants to stay 100%, and Manchester United, of course, want to keep Bruno.”

“Bruno was calling Cristian [Ronaldo]o, he’s always thinking for the team, on the pitch and off,” he added. “So now his contract is getting really closer, it’s a priority for Manchester United. They want Bruno to sign before the end of this year, so they are on it. Meetings, contacts, talks, but negotiations are going on in a really positive atmosphere, and Bruno, as of now, is closer to signing a new contract than Pogba but both are in talks with Man United to sign a new contract.”
