The Seattle Mariners and Houston Astros don't like each other. That much is clear. The teams have a history of feuding on the field and that narrative did not change in Monday's 7-4 Mariners victory. However, it was unclear what exactly led to the 9th inning benches-clearing brawl between Seattle and Houston. Fortunately Mariners' star Ty France, who's hit-by-pitch led to the brawl, provided an in-depth breakdown of what transpired between the teams.

“It got me and I didn't hear the umpire say it got me, so I turned and told them to check and the umpire said ‘No, I got it getting you,’” France stated. “I asked him, ‘You don't think that was intentional, do you, because of the pitch to (Kyle) Tucker earlier in the game?” And he said ‘No, I don't think so.' I was like, ‘Yeah, in a one-run game, I don't think so.' Then, I looked up and their dugout was running at me.”

Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker was plunked by a pitch earlier in the contest which didn't seem to draw any bad blood at the time. However, France want to check if his HBP may have been payback.

Astros manager Dusty Baker and pitcher Hector Neris were ejected following the incident.

Neris's response after being asked if he meant to hit Ty France with the pitch will certainly raise some eyebrows in the Mariners' clubhouse.

“I don’t have a comment about that.”

There is undeniably a legitimate rivalry brewing between the Astros and Mariners.
