After suffering an ACL tear back in March while playing for the Memphis Grizzlies, free-agent point guard Mario Chalmers has made a successful recovery, and has been cleared to return to court, per his tweet:

It can be recalled that the Chalmers was waived by the Grizzlies after the season-ending injury and is now left looking for his next employer.

This year's free agency is already drying up and rosters have mostly been filled in, which leaves the former 34th pick of the 2008 draft with a very small market.

The good news for him, is there are some teams who invite players for training camp deals to prove their worth and compete for spots. If Chalmers can get back to the player he once was before the injury, he'll get some serious looks from teams needing backcourt depth.

Winning back-to-back championships with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013 certainly helps the 30-year-old's stock. He has the veteran smarts and has played with some of the best players in the league like LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

In 55 games last season, Chalmers had very solid averages of 10.8 points, 3.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds in 22.8 minutes per game.

His chances of cracking a roster seems bleak right now, but other players who have suffered the same injury as his have returned successfully before, so it has been proven that it can be done.
