In the last few months, LaVar Ball has become a prominent figure in the sports media world because of his continued antics that has in many ways rubbed people the wrong way.

According to Mike Fisher of Dallasbasketball.com, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has grown to have a liking toward Ball due to his big push to grow his self-started Big Baller Brand business.

“I'm kind of liking his dad,” Cuban tells me. “He is an entrepreneur. He is creating a company from scratch, which isn't ever easy. I like it.”

Beyond promoting his son, Lonzo Ball, who is expected to be one of the top picks in this year's draft, LaVar has used the increased public attention toward the Big Baller Brand.

At every chance the Ball family has had, they have worn the apparel donning the brand such as t-shirts, hats, sweaters, and shoe wear that includes $495 ZO2 shoes and $220 sandals. The prices may be a bit head scratching but LaVar has taken full advantage of the limelight making his company publicly known.

However, the ultimate success of the brand will be dependent on the success of Lonzo in the NBA. If he falls short of meeting the lofty expectations ahead of him or is a bust, the Big Baller Brand could suffer greatly.
