Tiger Woods might actually play in the 2022 Masters. It seemed like a long shot after last year’s devastating car accident, but Tiger has given himself a chance to participate in the historic event through hard work and dedication. Nothing is set in stone though. Nonetheless, PGA superstar Rory Mcllroy shared his thoughts on Woods potentially playing in the Masters.

“I think for golf and for the Masters tournament and for everyone, to have Tiger there would be phenomenal.”

Rory Mcllroy is one of the most well-known golfers not named Tiger Woods in the world right now. He is a two-time PGA championship winner, one-time U.S Open Winner, and one-time Open Championship winner. However, he has yet to win the Masters.

On the other hand, Woods has plenty of victories in the tournament. Tiger first won the Masters in 1997, and has since won in 2001, 2002, 2005, and 2019. His 2019 victory was extremely emotional considering all of the turmoil Woods endured during the 2010’s decade. But his presence alone in the 2022 Masters would be even more climatic considering the 2021 car accident.

Mcllroy continued sharing his thoughts by explaining what Tiger Woods’ presence at the event would mean for golf.

“I think it just adds to the event. Obviously, it does. Anything Tiger Woods does in the game of golf is heightened whenever he's there. I mean, it would be awesome for him to be there.”

Woods' status for the 2022 Masters will become official within the next week. There is no question that the public, along with Mcllroy, is pulling for him to participate.
