The Dallas Mavericks are going to go as far as where Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis take them this season. That being said, the Mavs showed in their 113-103 win Saturday on the road against the LA Clippers to open up the playoffs that the team is more than just about the Euro Duo. The good side of Tim Hardaway Jr. showed up as well, but the Mavs probably were even happier to see Dorian Finney-Smith play the way he did.

Finney- Smith dropped 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field to go with five rebounds, a couple of assists, and a steal. On top of that, he played sound defense on the other end of the floor, helping slow down Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. But let's stick to his offense for this one.

Tim McMahon of ESPN remembered Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle elaborating a bit on the progress of Finney-Smith, whose improved 3-point shooting is making opponents pay for leaving him open in order to focus on the other Dallas players.

Zero lies detected there. Indeed, DFS is secretly one of the best shooters for the Mavs. Back in the regular season, Finney-Smith shot 39.5 percent on catch-and-shoot threes, which is important to note since that's among the key areas he's been making money all season long.

In fact, Luka Doncic and Finney-Smith was the Mavs' second-best 3-point assist combo during the regular season, with the Slovenian finding DFS a total of 52 times for a triple. Here's one of those.

Dorian Finney-Smith and the Mavs will look to carry over their momentum Tuesday in Game 2 of the series against the Clippers.
