The Mavs are 34-22 on the season entering Saturday. They are in seventh place in the Western Conference standings.
Cousins was actually linked to the Mavs back in the summer of 2018 when he was a free agent. That's the offseason where he had to sign with the Golden State Warriors for cheap because no one was offering him a deal. Cousins was coming off a torn Achilles tendon he suffered with the New Orleans Pelicans in January.
The Mavs this season are led by Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis.
Doncic has appeared in 45 games for the Mavs this season. He’s averaging 29.0 points, 9.6 rebounds and 8.6 assists while shooting 46.6 percent from the field, 32.7 percent from beyond the arc and 76.5 percent from the free-throw line.
Article Continues BelowPorzingis, meanwhile, is putting up 18.6 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists in his first season with the Mavs. The 24-year-old is shooting 41.8 percent from the floor, 35.3 percent from the 3-point line and 78.0 percent from the charity stripe.
